4. Smokovac rock climbing Montenegro is an exceptional destination for climbers who want to explore something new, appreciate practical logistics and love tufa climbing. When we take into account the climate, relatively low prices, easy access to steep rocks, the undiscovered potential of routes, as well as other activities besides climbing, Montenegro is a uniquely attractive country to visit. Easy access to current places makes it also a good and suitable destination for families!

The limestone rocks are of good and solid quality, although the tuffs are the most prominent structure. Specific variations of stone features such as slabs, vertical walls, caves, elevations, etc. can be found. Montenegrin sport climbing also offers rock climbing, multi-purpose terrain, traditional climbing and deep water soloing.

The best time for climbing in Smokovac, a small town 8.5 km from Podgorica, is during the spring and autumn months. If the air humidity is not too high, it is also possible to climb during the summer season, but only in the shade. The biggest challenge is climbing during the winter months, given the many cold, rainy days in this part of Montenegro, and therefore wet routes. The area of ​​Smokovac is currently the largest sport climbing cliff in Montenegro, with a height of up to 35m. Although this rock has several climbing categories, the most attractive and typical for this area is tufa climbing.

The area of Smokovac has progressed significantly since 2006 when a group of climbing enthusiasts discovered this cliff near the capital Podgorica. In this area, there are about 80 routes, 8b of which are on the stone ring itself, with a concave shape and 250m in height. The teams are constantly developing new, exciting routes, but for now, you can enjoy the existing ones in the northwest, southwest, and in the main, most developed ridge area overlooking the right side of the valley. 5. OFF-ROADING, DIRT BIKE RIDING, ATV & JEEPS Captain's Lake If you want to immerse yourself in the mountain treasures of Montenegro, this tour will take you to the most charming and picturesque parts of this beautiful region.
