It traditionally takes place on the first twelve days of July in Kotor, a city with a magical backdrop, a UNESCO heritage site, in one of the most beautiful bays in the world. It begins with the mayor of Kotor handing over the keys to the Old Town to the children, symbolically handing over the management of the city to them. The festival was founded in 1993 at a place only ten steps away from the building of the Kotor Theater where the first puppet show was performed in 1829.
It is the most important festival dedicated to theatrical creativity for children and young people in Southeastern Europe. It was declared a cultural manifestation of special importance in Montenegro and supported by the European Union - Culture 2007-2013 program. It is held during the summer tourist season at the most attractive locations in the Old Town.
Kotor's walls, squares, squares and squares are transformed into a theater. Theater unites all the arts, bringing the joy of creation and creating joy. After 200 years, they will return a permanent theater to Kotor. The festival is dedicated to children and young people, but also to all those who keep the child in them. The heritage of the values of peace, tolerance, equality and education. It serves to recognize and encourage the interdisciplinary abilities of children and their contribution to the development of society in the future, Children of today - worlds of tomorrow (UNICEF declaration). It encourages the professional development of theater art for children and young people by presenting the highest quality puppet, dramatic and multimedia performances from European countries and the whole world.

- hosted 2,700 artists from 43 countries.
