Picasso went through an extraordinary and complex transformation between 1905 and 1906 to 1907 year. Sculptures from Iberia (Spain and Portugal) dating back to the V and VI century BC, had a great influence on his work. More influential were his visits to the Ethnographic Museum, where African art from the French colonies was exposed. Picasso admired the expressive force and the unknown, the formal quality of African masks, which he himself was the owner and held them in his studio. Cubism replicates the process of perception, in which we examine the object from different angles and then compile our perception in the complete object in our head. Picasso gathered shattered subjects not according to our process of perception but in accordance with the principles of artistic composition, he tried to convey meaning rather than representations of observed reality. We are familiar with its many phases: blue, pink, impressionist, realist, cubist or an African, collage cubist and neoclassical. He made graphics, Zeichnungen, nudes, Keramiken, wire constructions, forms of bronze, cubist sculpture. Works by Pablo Picasso will be displayed until October 30th in Cetinje.
