The second part of the exhibition comes from fellow British photographer Hugh Arnold and his "Agua Nacida" series. Arnold's intensely colored large nudes were shot underwater in Fiji and Gozo. The result is an intimate study of the female form, the liberating freedom of movement underwater and the aesthetics of the sea seen from below.
Each visually arresting image marks a symbolic transition from conception, to carefree childhood, the discovery of adolescence, the sensuality of femininity and the pain of childbirth, describing each stage in the process through the acutely observed physical activities of his models.
"Gravity limits us above the water, but below the surface it's almost like a fairy tale world. Colors, light, even our breath that we can't physically see above the water gives a beautiful dimension," says Arnold.
