From today, December 23, 2014 to January 23, 2015, you can visit the exhibition "Woman as an inspiration for Montenegrin painters of the 20th century" in the Modern Gallery in Podgorica. This representative exhibition within the "December Art Scene 2014" event presents a retrospective of the works of 25 artists who participated in the formation of the Montenegrin art scene with their creativity. The works that will be exhibited were created in the period from the twenties to the nineties of the 20th century and represent the development of art in Montenegro. Visitors will have the opportunity to see the works of great painters: Petar Lubarda, Mihajlo Vukotić, Jovan Zonjić, Mata Đuranović, Voja Stanić, Branko Stamatović, Aca Prijić, Dobrila Džodžo, Cvetko Lainović, Anđelko Arnautović, Banet Sekulić, Tom Pavićević, Nikola Gvozdenović, Ilija Šobajić, Slobodan Slovinić, Vasilisa Radojević, Stanko Zečević and others. The theme of the exhibition is women as the eternal inspiration of artists. How our creators saw and experienced a woman, mother, lover or casual passer-by. One of the questions raised by this setting is how much the social context influences the emergence and development of archetypal representations of women.
